Trinidad Rock Radio

Since it's inception in August 16th 1996, WTNT - Trinidad Rock Radio has continued providing a worldwide audience with Rock Music created in Trinidad and the Greater Caribbean After receiving QSL requests from Listeners as far as the United States from DXer's and having a QSL published in the Popular Communication Magazine, in the early days WTNT  was knowns as Cell Phone Radio at first CPR then changed to CELL on 6950 kHz and 7410 KHz with couples arguing and pop and Rock as the music format then Later on (Free to Air) TV Channel 15.

After numerous attempts to stream music in 2000 WTNT remained off air and offline, however the website had been migrated to the popular geocities.com at the time.
in 2004 a full internet presence was realised with the wtnt.tk domain an the shoutcast stream, however it's popularity among Trinidadians on the island remained short lived as numerous attempts were made to have a reliable internet webcast possible.

With the current Recession hitting Trinidad and Tobago and the US and UK like a tonne of bricks Trinidad Rock Radio has had to migrate it's website using Yola and Ubroadcast which see reliable at the moment.

It was noted with great interest at a Telecommunications forum in 2009 which included COTT AND TATT and a contributor Mr Keith Nurse  calling for more local content on Trinidadian and Tobagonian Radio and Television stations.

As has been done since 1996 WTNT now known as Trinidad Rock Radio, a 'Free Radio' Station is still promoting Local culture of Trinidad and Tobago notably Local and Caribbean Rock Music Artistes on a none existant budget.

Since this date of writing in 2009 maybe we will be granted a community license in 10 years time or when the Status quo croaks Since TATT is not giving out anymore broadcast licenses.

When media houses realise that the listeners and viewers are out of sync with their own culture, then they will realise the need for more local content from the grass roots level.
